Browsing and device saves
You can browse without an account. Favorites, layout choices, ranking ballots, simulation scenarios, program projects and the original local newsroom are stored in your browser. Clearing browser storage removes those device copies. Localhost and the hosted site have separate storage.
Accounts and cloud saves
Google Firebase handles email/password and Google sign-in. Campus Rink receives an account identifier and verified sign-in information to protect your saves. Campus Rink’s server does not receive your password. Firebase may process your email, profile name, sign-in activity and technical information according to its own policies.
When you turn on cloud sync, the selected device saves are copied to Campus Rink’s Cloudflare database. They stay private to your account. Cloud saves retain a small revision history for recovery. Account administrators operate the database and can access stored records for support and site operation.
Owner-managed articles
The site owner can import and publish stories supplied by writers. Working drafts are backed up on the owner’s device; saved drafts are private to site administrators. Published stories, their credited bylines and source links are public. There is no public contributor directory. Writers do not need an account.
Feedback and technical logs
Feedback is stored with your account identifier for editors to review. Please do not include sensitive personal information. Cloudflare processes requests and operational logs, which may include technical request information. The app does not add advertising trackers or Google Analytics.
Control your information
Use My account to download your data or delete your cloud data and Firebase account. Deletion removes current cloud saves, profiles, stories and feedback; operational audit records can remain for up to 90 days, and deleted data can remain in provider backups until those backups expire. Device saves remain until you clear them. You can stop cloud synchronization by signing out. Sign out on shared devices and clear device data before handing them to someone else.
Sources and third-party sites
Hockey statistics and player facts come from public source reports. Links to publishers, team websites and writer portfolios open third-party sites governed by their own policies. Use the Feedback option for corrections or content-rights concerns.
